recent years, because of excess exposure of this drug, resistance haas reported .So, this study wasantifungal activity of griseofulvin and fluconazole against Microsporum sp in a new In Vitro Mo
Materials & Methods: This study was done in two levels (initial and final minimum inhibitory 4 Microsporum strains were supplied from department of mycology of Tehran University of
cultured on sabouraud dextrose agar (SDA) at 30 c .Fungal suspensions were spectrophotometrically supplied wranged .05 – 5 ×10 4 . Initial MICs were done in accordance with National Committee for Clinical LabStandards (NCCLS) guideline. Griseofulvin and fluconazole were supplied 10 two-fold serially diluted rang0.125 -64 µg ml -1 and 0.187 -96 µg ml -1 respectively and incubated with diluted fungal suspensions with RPM
Results & Conclusion: The mean initial MICs were 32 µg ml -1 and 48 µg ml -1 for griseofulvin and fluc respectively. The mean final MICs were 64 µg ml -1 and 96 µg ml -1 for griseofulvin and fluconazole respe With regard to increase in final MICs and mimic of clinical condition, clinicians should utilize MICs for hiring t effective antifungal agents for treatment of fungal diseases and prevention of any drug resistance. Keywords: Microsporum, Griseofulvin, Fluconazole, minimum inhibitory concentration
