Version 4.0.0
Date 17-Sep-2013
New Function: Per Dimmer Patch
Instead of a single DMX start address for the complete rack, now an individual DMX start address in the range 1-512 is possible for each dimmer. Use M02 “DMX start” to set the address value to “single”. Now you can use dimmer submenu D13 “DMX address” to set an individual DMX start address for each dimmer. The maximum number of concurrent clients for dimmer feedback (WinDFB or Eos/Congo/NT/NTX family consoles) is increased to 20 (was 4 in earlier version). Version 3.8.0 (internal release)
Date 03-May-2013
New Functions: DimSwitch and DimHMI
In “DimSwitch” mode, a dimmer has assigned an additional DMX control parameter, which is used to switch between “Dimmer” and “Nondim” operation. Use dimmer menu D01 “Dimmer type” to select DimSwitch mode. In DimSwitch mode, a normal 8-bit dimmer uses two successive DMX addresses: DMX address x: dimmer output control 0-100% (DMX range 0-255), or Nondim control (0 = off, 255 = on) operating mode: 0 = Nondim, 255 = Dimmer A 16-bit dimmer uses three successive DMX addresses: DMX address x: MSB dimmer output control 0-100% (DMX range 0-255), or Nondim control (0 = off, 255 = on) LSB dimmer output control (DMX range 0-255), unused in Nondim mode operating mode: 0 = Nondim, 255 = Dimmer Similarly, the “DimHMI” mode can be used to switch between “Dimmer” and “HMI” operation. Use dimmer menu D01 “Dimmer type” to select DimHMI mode. Note: the new operations modes DimSwitch and DimHMI can be used with all types of FDX2000 dimmer modules (DP90, DP90+, DP90S). Version 3.6.0
Date 03-May-2013
Improved Communications
• In WinDFB, it is now possible to set the dimmer count to zero, to disable all dimmers. In earlier versions, this was possible only with local system submenu S05. • Changes in network configuration (e.g. IP address) during operation are now activated immediately and are reported to all connected clients (WinDFB, Eos/NT/NTX consoles). A reboot is no longer required. • In this version, M02 “DMX start” offers the choice “single”. However, single (per dimmer) patch is fully Version 3.4.0
Date 27-Nov-2012
Improved Dimmer Curves
• Dimmer curve 10=ANDI was measured an calculated with increased precision, it mimics now exactly the dimming curve of the historic British dimmer. • In factory setting, for all dimmers now voltage and current monitoring is enable. In previous versions, current monitoring had to be set manually at initial configuration. • The number of simulaneous Nondims (Service menu T12) is now set to maximum (96). This avoids problems when normal DP90 modules are used as Nondims. The number of Nondims must be reduced to 20 only when more than 20 special “HMI” modules (DP90+) are installed without an additional power supply. • The local IP address (Menu M04) and the Gateway address (Service Menu S04) can now be set to any possible value. In previous versions, IP address 0.0.0.0 and other addresses with special meaning could be set only with WinDFB. Version 3.2.0
Date 05-Oct-2011
Improved network communications
• Communication with WinDFB or consoles of the NT/NTX, Eos and Congo family now works in class B networks as expected when the IP addresses differ in more than the last number (e.g. 10.101.50.1 and 10.101.70.1). • sACN protocol input now works as expected even when in menu S04 “IP Gateway” the Gateway address is invalid or missing. Technical background: when sACN input is enabled, FDX2000 now sends IGMP requests to the connect switch independently from the Gateway settings. • The unit’s DMX start address now can be set with WinDFB (with WinDFB ver. 1.3.7 or newer) • With the new preset menu P04 “Preset Control” external analog and digital signals can be assigned to • With the new preset menu P05 all preset fader values can be displayed (4 values simultaneously) • With the new display M11 the current output level of all dimmers can be displayed (4 values • The input LEDs “DMX A” and “DMX B” now turn Orange when incoming DMX telegrams are too short
Version 3.0.0
Date 01-Jun-2011
LED status indicators are now aligned with E-Gate family. Now both products have identical status indication
as noted below:
• During power-on startup phase, both “CPU” and “NET” LED are Orange. • During a reboot, “CPU” LED is Orange, and “NET” LED is off. • During flash programming, “CPU” LED flashes Green. • When Ethernet link is missing (no cable or switch offline), “NET” LED is off • On very high network load, considerably less data packets are lost than before. Thus visible steps in crossfades are avoided, and the DFB connection remains stable even in extreme conditions. • If the Ethernet switch provides “Full Duplex“ connection, loss of receive packets during data • Data loss on transmitted packets is avoided. Version 2.8.0 (internal release)
Date 20-Apr-2011
sACN receive implemented. Protocol versions “Draft 0.2” and “Standard ANSI E1.13-2009” are auto-detected.
sACN protocol is optionally received in parallel to AVAB/UDP and/or AVAB/IPX protocols.
VFD Display / Menu S01: extended for sACN
VFD Display / Status: on input source overflow (more than 4 Ethernet sources), status “ETH:ovf“ („Ethernet
Input Overflow“) is indicated.
“NET” LED indicator revised:
Green permanent:
valid AVAB/UDP and/or sACN data is received and handled valid AVAB/UDP and/or sACN data is received and valid DFB requests are receive and handled valid data is received but not handled because addressing does not match When connected to WinDFB Version 1.3.5. or higher, details about the max. 4 input sources can be displayed (IP address, universe, priority, source Id). Version 2.6.0
Date 11-Feb-2010
External 16 Bit control introduced. Local display: menu D12 “8/16 bit control” added.
Dimmer menu D02 “Dimmer curve”: curves 9=VIP90 (fluorescent lamp controller) und 10=ANDI (older Strand
dimmer) added.
Error in dimmer error feedback corrected: when in menu M08 dimmer feedback was disabled for the first
dimmer, the processor reported “no dimmer feedback” for all dimmers.
Error in dimmer activity feedback corrected: when for an active dimmer the dimmer feedback was disabled,
the dimmer’s “active” flag remained set until shutdown.

Version 2.4.3

Date 16-Sep-2009
A flicker problem at startup in version 2.4.2 was fixed that could occur when priority control was used.

Version 2.4.2

Date 18-Feb-2009
Local DMX512 input: empty frames are now ignored. This fixes a flicker problem in hold mode at the moment
when after a signal loss the signal becomes valid again.
Priority control for AVAB/UDP input: when a DMX frame is received from a new source for the first time, the
source’s priority is internally set before the DMX data is evaluated.
When setup data stored in flash is detected as corrupt, the factory default is used instead.
Version 2.2.0
Date 26-Jun-2008
In service menu T11, the V and LP retry counts are now adjustable in range 1.99.
In DFB test mode, a station address range 1.126 can be assigned.
In Telnet Debug mode / section input -> ether-> display the “active” and “in use” Flags are displayed.
Version 2.0.0
Date 21-Apr-2008
AVAB/UPD priority control implemented.
In Telnet Debug mode / section input -> ether -> display the received priorities and the results of the priority
algorithm are displayed.
Version 1.19.4
Date 25-Feb-2006
IPX Receive: within a logical network only the Live Output Port is accepted. In older versions all 8 possible
ports were accepted.
Version 1.18.1
Date 05-Oct-2004
Time constants for dimmer response corrected to 40,80,160,320 (was 40,80,120,160)
Version 1.18.0
Date 26-Aug-2004
Very short input voltage drops in the range 1.10ms are now ignored.
