No. 9 Phil Walker’s film "General Orders No. 9" – a visual/poetic history of Georgia which he produced and edited - will screen at the Slamdance Film Festival in January—one of only eighteen films in competition out of nearly 5000 submissions. Slamdance runs concurrent to the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Slamdance began in 1995 to protest the increasing influence of Hollywood on Sundance. It has since become one of the most influential film festivals in the country while still maintaining its indie film credibility. This is the third festival for "General Orders No. 9", including the Atlanta Film Festival and the Sidewalk Film Festival in Birmingham.
