GENERAL:
Move the exposed person to fresh air at once. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. INHALATION:
Fresh air and rest. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. INGESTION:
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING! Rinse mouth thoroughly. Provide rest, warmth and fresh air. If patient vomits, turn to recovery position. Get medical help. Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse the skin immediately with lots of water. Wash clothing before wearing. Get medical attention promptly if symptoms occur after washing. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Fire can be extinguished using: Water spray, fog or mist. Foam. Carbon dioxide (CO2). Dry chemicals, sand, dolomite etc. SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:

Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire. Keep run-off water out of sewers and water sources. Dike for water control. In case of fire, wear self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective clothing. PROTECTIVE MEASURES IN FIRE: Wear suitable respiratory protection when dealing with a fire.
ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS DURING SPILL:

Wear suitable protective clothing. Avoid breathing vapour. PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT ENVIRONMENT:

Do not let the product or washing down water enter natural water courses or the sewers. Inform relevant authorities if this occurs. SPILL CLEANUP METHODS:
Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid sparks, flames, heat and smoking. Ventilate. Provide ventilation and confine spill. Do not allow runoff to sewer. Clean-up personnel should use respiratory and/or liquid contact protection. Wash thoroughly after dealing with a spillage. Runoff or release to sewer, waterway or ground is forbidden. 7 HANDLING

USAGE PRECAUTIONS:
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame. Avoid spilling, skin and eye contact. Avoid breathing vapours. Use approved respirator if air contamination is above accepted level. Wash thoroughly after handling. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Follow the principles of good occupational hygiene to control personal exposures. STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:
Store only in the container in which the product is supplied. STORAGE CRITERIA:

TOXIC DOSE 1- LD50:
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION:
SENSITISATION: Sensitisation possible through skin contact. This product is irritating to eyes and mucous membranes. ASPIRATION HAZARD- Do not breathe vapour or spray – May cause lung damage if material gets into the lungs after accidental swallowing or vomiting of ingested material. LD50 dermal rat : expected > 2000 mg/kg. In a chronic oral toxicity animal study, 2- butanone oxime produced an adverse effect upon red blood cells. This was found for all dose levels tested. HARMFUL: Danger of serious damage to health by prolonged exposure through inhalation and if swallowed. Possible risks of irreversible effects. CHRONIC TOXICITY: 2- butanone oxime affects the blood with reversible dose related effects on haematological parameters (methaemoglobinaemia, haemolytic anaemia and compensatory erythropoiesis). In rats and mice dose related degenerative effects on olfactory epithelium of the nasal cavity occurred. Recovery was noted after cessation of exposure. EPIDEMIOLOGICAL DATA: In animal studies 2-butanone oxime inhibits acetaldehyde dehydrogenase in the liver. Ethyl alcohol use after exposure to the substance might therefore result in high acetaldehyde concentrations resulting in headache, red face, nausea, vomiting, sweating and rapid pulse. (The so called antabuse effect). However, up until now no such related effects to 2-butanone-oxime have been noted in workers handling this substance. May cause sensitisation by skin contact.
